One of the highlights of the Lancelot H. Owens Scholarship Foundation is our annual awards banquet. A star-studded event, the banquet is an opportunity for the foundation to showcase to the country the students that we often do not read about in the newspapers. Our scholars are bright and exceptional students, and their commitment to service is as obvious as their intelligence.

Another highlight of the banquet is the silent auction, where we auction goods and merchandise donated by many individuals in the entertainment industry.

In addition to many attendees from the entertainment fields, many government representatives attend the LHOSF banquet. Previous guests include, Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. and Corey Booker.

The LHOSF banquet also honors civic heroes via the LHOSF Community Service Award. Many civic and religious individuals whose work enrich our communities and motivate our youth, have been honored by LHOSF.
